Bacteria, Enzymes & Water Quality Products
Environmental Aquatic Management (EAM) offers a variety of products to improve your water quality and overall health of the aquatic ecosystem.
We have products to help remove nutrients and sediments from watersheds. EAM also carries products designed to improve the clarity as well as the quality of the watershed.
Every watershed is unique. Water and sediment samples are taken and sent to a lab to see which of the different products will be effective.
The new EPA law requires that anyone who applies any products to any sized lake or pond have an EPA NPDES Permit. This applies to everyone on all sized ponds and lakes and all products including bacteria, enzymes and dyes. There are no exceptions to this permit. There are some exemptions to some parts of the permit, but the permit, by law, must still be obtained prior to any application being made. Even private homeowners on their own backyard small pond must legally have a permit.
EAM can answer any questions on this matter. Kevin Dahm (Owner/Founder) has been working with the EPA on this issue since 2006 to the present and knows this new law in depth. For one low application fee, EAM, with 20 years of application expertise, can make the needed applications for you. The permit and all required paperwork, mapping and documentation are included at no charge.
BACTERIA: Bacteria consume waste and assimilate nutrients through the process of growing, reproducing and metabolizing. This action is determined by the amount of organic material present in the aquatic ecosystem. A lab sample and depth mapping of the sediment is done to determine the proper product and the correct rate. If these results show enough organic material present then a science based bio-augmentation program (bacteria program) can be initiated. Not all bacteria are the same. EAM offers a specific strain that is field tested and proven effective on aquatic ecosystems. With the proper prep and lab work done, the addition of bacteria will improve your aquatic ecosystems health and management.
Bio-Booste Muck Digesting Pellets (#25 pail) This slow release, customized blend of bacteria is specifically designed to metabolize bottom sediments (muck) from an aquatic ecosystem. The pellets drop quickly to the bottom and begin to penetrate and degrade the bottom sediments. Applications are done from May to the end of September on a regular schedule. The rate is determined by the total acre-feet of the watershed. For more information, contact our office.
Bio-Boost Bacteria summer blend (#10 & #25 pails) This high quality bacteria contains naturally occurring warm water (mesophilic) loving microorganisms along with essential vitamins, bio-stimulants and catalyzing enzymes custom blended for lakes and ponds. This bacteria reduces nutrients from the water colum and can enhances the water quality. Season long bacteria application programs, can reduce the number of traditional algae treatments as well as improve the overall health and quality. 8 Billion CFU/gram
Bio-Boost Bacteria polar blend (#10 & #25 pails) This high quality bacteria is the same as the summer blend but contains naturally occurring cold water (psychrophilic) loving microorganisms along with essential vitamins, bio-stimulants and catalyzing enzymes custom blended for lakes and ponds. This bacteria reduces nutrients from the water column and can enhances the water quality. Season long bacteria application programs, can reduce the number of traditional algae treatments as well as improve the overall health and quality. This bacteria is recommend for temperatures between 39 and 64 degrees. 8 Billion CFU/gram
Clean Pond Bacteria Block (10 lb. Block) The Clean Pond Bacteria Block is designed to boost your watersheds naturally occurring bacteria. These pre-measured blocks are designed to make applications easy and accurate. These bacteria blocks slowly dissolve releasing a steady stream of bacteria. They break down leaves, dead plants, fish droppings and other organic material. The Pond Block will help your pond become cleaner, clearer and healthier pond with less odor. There are no restrictions for water use and the blocks are harmless to fish and animal.
Bio Boost Enzyme (1 & 2.5 gal. containers) Enzymes are the catalyst that aid in the process of decomposition. Enzymes aid in the digestion of leaf litter, grass clippings, dead algae cells, dead plant matter, goose manure, and other organic materials. Their efficiency depends on several factors including, amount of organic material present, dissolved oxygen content of the water, type of bacteria present and water chemistry. Enzymes are best used with bacteria. A complete bacteria silt bio augmentation program has a regular application schedule of enzymes to aid in the metabolism of the organic material. |
